[SN IMJ289A] YAMAHA / Red Label FG5 GLOSS Vintage Natural [03]
Since its debut in the 1960s, Yamahaâs âRed Labelâ has supported the dawn of Japanese folk music and spawned countless legends. The Japanese-made âFG,â a fusion of traditional design and skilled craftsmanship honed over more than 50 years, has finally received a long-awaited update. This new model features a newly adopted "Gloss Finish" on the body, which highlights the deep, beautiful wood grain and exudes an even greater sense of luxury and refined elegance.
The body shape features Yamahaâs signature original âFG Dreadnought Style.â It delivers rich volume and dynamic, natural resonance in the mid-to-low frequencies, boasting a robust, classic acoustic sound that is ideal for powerful chord strumming and vigorous flatpicking.
The wood construction is a luxurious all-solid design, featuring a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, which produce a warm, rich midrange. The top features Yamahaâs proprietary âA.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement)â treatment, which produces a warm, resonant tone with minimal harsh overtonesâsounding like a vintage guitar that has been played and aged over many years, even though it is brand new.Furthermore, utilizing the latest acoustic analysis simulation technology, the "proprietary scalloped bracing" optimized for the FG body shape successfully enhances the powerful low-end response while maximizing the inherent characteristics of the wood.
The headstock inherits Yamahaâs traditional V-shape and features a truss rod cover engraved with the tuning fork logo and âSince 1966,â signifying the modelâs origins. Each guitar is meticulously set up by hand by skilled Japanese craftsmen, featuring a "cowbone nut and saddle"âknown for its exceptional hardness and sound transmission efficiencyâas well as luxurious ebony for the fingerboard, bridge, and bridge pins. The back of the neck is finished with a smooth satin finish, providing smooth position changes and outstanding playability.
This is a supreme instrument that allows you to fully savor the charm of the all-Japanese "Red Label" series, where the rugged yet beautiful aesthetics of vintage designâstripped of unnecessary ornamentationâare masterfully fused with cutting-edge modern acoustic technology through the skill of Japanese artisans.
