[SN 15-220457] USED Paul Reed Smith (PRS) / 2015 Private Stock #5737 Custom 24 Tiger Eye Smokeburst [03]
Body, Neck, and Fingerboard
For the body topāoften considered the face of the guitarāweāve selected āCurly Mapleā with its striking, three-dimensional grain. The body back features āMahoganyā with a subtle grain pattern.
For the finish, we chose "Tiger Eye Smokeburst" to maximize the beauty of the wood grain, and it has been meticulously finished with a High Gloss Nitro (lacquer) finish. The thin lacquer coating ensures a rich tone and excellent response without compromising the natural resonance of the wood.
The neck is crafted from "Peruvian Mahogany" in a "Pattern Regular" shape. Peruvian Mahogany is a slightly harder wood than traditional mahogany and is characterized by its quick response.
The fingerboard is made of "African Blackwood," which features a high density and beautiful grain. It balances a tight sound with a smooth playing feel, delivering superior playability. It combines a luxurious appearance with practicality.
Combined with the Peruvian mahogany neck, this configuration delivers a sound character characterized by excellent responsiveness and clear tonal separation. This combination fully demonstrates its capabilities not only in jazz fusion but also in fusion rock and contemporary playing styles.
The "30th Anniversary Birds With Vine" inlay sets this model apart from standard bird inlays. The "vine" that flows across the entire fingerboard, interspersed with delicate birds, creates a beautiful design that seems to weave a single narrative.Carefully selected mother-of-pearl is used for the inlays, emitting a fantastical luster that changes depending on the angle of the light. This three-dimensional, organic design is made possible only by the high level of skill possessed by master craftsmen.
Pickups
The guitar is equipped with the "59/09" pickup, known for its bright, punchy sound and often referred to as the "PRS-style PAF." Inspired by 1959 humbuckers, this pickup features Alnico II magnets and delivers a clear sound that handles a wide range of tones, from clean to driven. Another appealing feature is its ability to reproduce delicate tones with precision, depending on how the volume and tone controls are adjusted.
