[SN 14-213745] USED Paul Reed Smith (PRS) / 2014 Private Stock #5250 30th Anniversary Limited Custom 24 Scarlet Red [03]
Private Stock
"Private Stock" is PRS’s premier line, crafted entirely through custom orders separate from the standard production line.
Crafted by a select group of master artisans using the rarest woods and luxurious inlays, the models in this series are the ultimate guitars, characterized by an artistic and beautiful appearance that can be described as a work of art, as well as a sound and playability that have been meticulously refined in every detail.
Body
The top features beautifully grained curly maple.
The back is made of African ribbon mahogany, resulting in a classic wood configuration.
It features a pre-factory top curve and heel, resulting in a sharp arch and small neck heel reminiscent of the early Custom 24.
The finish is the classic "Scarlet Red" in a high-gloss nitrocellulose finish.
Neck
The neck is crafted from rare "Peruvian Mahogany."
Peruvian Mahogany is a slightly harder wood than traditional mahogany and is characterized by its quick response.
The fingerboard is made of "Madagascar Rosewood." It is adorned with "30th Anniversary birds" inlays made of Paua and Abalone purfling, adding a touch of elegance to the fingerboard.
The neck shape is "Pattern Regular." It offers a moderate thickness and a comfortable, secure grip.
Pickups
The guitar is equipped with the "85/15" pickups, which are a refined version of the early 1985 PRS pickups, updated to mark the 30th anniversary. Additionally, while the original design featured a Sweet Switch activated by pulling the tone knob—a feature found on the early Custom 24 models—the capacitor has been removed, and the setup has been modified so that both pickups now coil-tap.
Since Private Stock models feature unique combinations of woods, parts, and specifications—and each one is truly one-of-a-kind—encountering one is a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you are considering purchasing one, please contact us as soon as possible.
Condition
There is some discoloration visible on the bridge, but the guitar is in excellent condition with minimal signs of use. The neck, frets, truss rod, and all other playability-related aspects are in perfect working order.
Additionally, the guitar underwent a full setup at our repair center upon arrival, so you can use it with confidence.
