[SN 374892] USED MARTIN / D-76 [03]
A total of 1,976 āMartin D-76ā guitars were produced between 1975 and 1976.
With a three-piece back reminiscent of the D-35, carefully selected wood equivalent to Grade 45, star-shaped fingerboard inlays, and an American eagle headstock inlay, this is an incredibly attractive guitar that exudes the elegance and presence unique to a commemorative model in every detail.
Based on the serial number 374892, we have determined this to be a 1976 model.
Key specifications include a solid Sitka spruce top, solid Indian rosewood sides and back, mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, non-scalloped X-bracing, a V-shaped nut width of approximately 42.9 mm, and a 645 mm scale length.
Since it features an SQ neck, the neck cannot be adjusted by turning the truss rod.
As for its condition, it has dents, scratches, and tarnished metal parts, showing signs of aging and wear commensurate with its age.
There is a slight bulge visible below the top bridge.
The neck has a very slight forward bow, but there is no lift at the heel.
Evidence of a previous neck reset is visible. Additionally, the bridge pins are aftermarket.
The frets are at a height equivalent to new ones. The string action is 2.4 mm on the 6th string and 1.9 mm on the 1st string at the 12th fret.
The body and headstock are covered with extensive weather checking.
There are chips in the finish in various places on the body, with a particularly large chip near the soundhole.
We have performed the following services at our shop: cleaning, string replacement, action adjustment, fret leveling, neck straightening, nut replacement, fingerboard repair, refretting, neck refinishing, and PG coating.
