[SN 947919] USED MARTIN / D-45, 2003 Model, with Added Bridge Inlays [03]
Crafted from premium-grade wood and featuring luxurious abalone inlays, the D-45 is a legendary instrumentāthe pinnacle of acoustic guitarsāknown for being played by artists such as CSNY, Kazuhiko Kato, Galo, Takahiko Ishikawa, Kaguyahime, Kentaro Obuchi of Kobukuro, and Masamune Kusano of Spitz.
This particular instrument was built in 2003 and features a low-profile neck with a nut width of 42.9 mm. It is equipped with Schaller Rotomatic tuners. Inlays matching the style of the original D-45 built for Gene Autry have been added to the left and right sides of the bridge. Since this is not a custom model, they were likely added later.
There is an impact mark on the top to the left of the bridge, similar to the one in the lower right corner of the top; it is slightly noticeable depending on the viewing angle. Additionally, a shallow, strip-shaped indentation just over 2 cm long can be seen on the side near the back, on the bass-string side. There are also fine impact marks, faint scratches on the finish surface, slight clouding of the finish, and some tarnishing of the plating on the metal parts; however, there is no significantly unsightly damage.
The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod has been tested to move 60 degrees in both directions. The frets have been dressed and show no indentations; they retain approximately 80% of their original height. Both playability and sound are impeccable.
Deep resonance, rich overtones, and impeccable sustaināthis is the quintessential D-45. It produces a well-balanced tone. Highly recommended.
