[SN S963347] USED FENDER USA / Stratocaster with Black Maple Fingerboard, 1980 [03]
The tiger-eye grain visible in the maple neck and the overall patina of age give this instrument a sense of character and dignity. The electronic components (potentiometers, pickups, switches, etc.) are all original, with no signs of re-soldering, and the date stamp confirms it was indeed manufactured in 1980.
It is not excessively heavy, and the balance between the neck and body is excellent.
Since the finish appears to be worn off, it is possible that the frets and nut have been replaced, and the fingerboard surface has been refinished as a result.
All the white plastic parts appear to have been replaced, but since this was done early on, they do not look out of place.
The frets have been leveled and adjusted, so the playing condition is fine and the guitar is fully playable.
There are signs of age, scratches, and general wear throughout the instrument. The metal parts show some tarnish, and there are dents on the back of the neck and various parts of the body. Additionally, the frets, nut, and plastic parts have been replaced. The electronics—including the pots, pickups, and switches—are all original.
After this item arrived at our shop, we restrung it with new strings and performed cleaning, maintenance, and setup on all parts in our repair department.
