[SN 80024] USED GIBSON USA / Pre-Historic Les Paul Reissue Heritage Cherry Sunburst [03]
Weâve received a reissue model produced from the early 1980sâbefore the âGibson Custom Shopâ was officially establishedâthrough around 1992.
It features a classic wood configuration: a maple top, mahogany back, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard. The neck is moderately slim and features the Fretless Wonder profile, while the pickups are the iconic âHB-R & HB-Lâ that defined this era.
Often referred to as âfoundationalâ pickups, the âHB-R & HB-Lâ pair deliver a powerful yet responsive attack, characterized by a unique, weighty low end that creates a rich, full-bodied sound.
Overall, there are numerous scratches, dents, buckle marks, and playing wear. There are cracks in the binding due to age, as well as deformation and cracks in the escutcheon, and the hardware shows signs of tarnish and rust.
Additionally, there are cracks in the control knobs and toggle switch, stripped threads on some screws, shrinkage in the pickguard, and play in the tuning pegs.
* While there are currently no issues with tuning, the 3rd string peg has significant play.
There are signs of repairs on the jack plate and the solder joints of the pickups, but the pickups and pots are original.
The only included accessory is a hard case, though the lock mechanism is damaged. There are no issues with storing the guitar.
While it shows moderate signs of wear, the balance of the figure and color is excellent, and it remains in a condition close to its original state.
This guitar features a wide, undulating tiger-stripe grain pattern, offering a unique visual appeal that changes depending on the viewing angle.
