[SN 2323704] USED GIBSON USA / ES-175 Reissue Vintage Sunburst [03]
The ES-175 is arguably Gibson’s flagship archtop model. This particular instrument was crafted at the Memphis factory—which closed to much regret—and is becoming increasingly rare on the market.
It features a 16-inch body constructed from maple, poplar, and maple, paired with a mahogany neck that offers just the right amount of grip and a rosewood fingerboard.
It is equipped with the 57 Classic pickup, which remains immensely popular to this day; its rich, full-bodied sound pairs perfectly with the resonant body of this guitar. The thick, warm tone is also well-suited for jazz.
Overall, there are minor scratches, dents, and playwear. There are marks on the headstock that appear to be from a clip-on tuner, and some of the hardware shows signs of tarnish and scuffing.
Additionally, there are minor cracks and unevenness along the binding caused by aging.
Additionally, the soundboard has warped slightly over time, but this does not currently affect playability.
There are no modifications or noticeable major damage, and the neck is in good condition, making this a guitar that can still be enjoyed for years to come.
No matter the angle, the exquisite flame maple is on full display, making this a truly captivating instrument with a richly expressive grain pattern!
