[SN 612266] USED GIBSON / 1969–72 ES-175D Sunburst [04]
The body top and back are made of laminated maple/poplar/maple
The neck is a 3-piece mahogany. There is no volute on the back of the headstock, and the distinctive Gibson-engraved pickup inlays were introduced in 1972.
Since there are no modifications to these two features, we have dated it to 1969-72.
I suspect the neck was manufactured in late 1969 and assembled in 1972.
The finish on the body top has faded to an iced tea color.
The top is slightly sagging, and the wood bridge is raised.
There is still some clearance, but the string-to-pickup height is 7.5 mm at the top of the 6th string on the bridge and 8 mm at the top of the 1st string on the neck.
The decals inside the soundhole are square and black/white/purple.
The tuners are the 1970–75 model with two knobs and a "Gibson Deluxe" stamp (the 5th string tuner shaft is slightly warped, but it functions normally).
The pickups are "T-Top" models with patent numbers on the Enpos covers.
Since there is solder on the cover, it is unclear whether it has a square window or not.
The tailpiece is a chrome trapeze.
Controls: 2 Volume / 2 Tone / 3-Way Switch (rubber mounts)
Overall, there is some tarnish on the parts and scratches on the back of the neck
The nut has been replaced; the truss rod currently moves in both directions, but the remaining adjustment range is unknown.
