The EHX Oceans 12 is essentially the “big brother” to the Oceans 11, offering even more reverb options and features.It can run two independent stereo reverb engines simultaneously and features advanced I/O capabilities, including serial and parallel control of the dual reverbs, 24 presets, and support for stereo input/output and mono send/return, with the option to select pre-reverb or post-reverb.It also features a new “Tide Control” function for adjusting the stereo image, a Lo-fi control, and an infinite decay control, as well as input jacks for connecting an external expression pedal or a 3-button footswitch.

The “Tails” switch lets you choose whether the reverb effect fades out naturally or stops immediately when the pedal is bypassed. In most settings, this pedal can generate infinite reverb, and you can even layer another reverb effect on top of it while playing.

The Oceans 12 reverb modes are as follows:
ROOM Two modes: reverb algorithms modeled after a lively room and a spacious concert hall
SPRING Two modes: an emulation of a vintage 1962 Fender 6G15 tube reverb and the spring algorithm from the EHX Holy Grail
PLATE Two modes: Two emulations of the smooth metal plate reverb frequently used in high-end recording studios from the 1960s through the 1970s
REVERSE 2 modes: Reverse reverb effect and true reverse echo
ECHO 3 modes: Digital delay with various echo rhythms fed into the plate reverb
TREM 3 modes: Applies various classic periodic volume envelopes to both the wet and dry components of the hall reverb
MOD 3 modes: A combination of chorus and flanger reverb that produces a rich reverb tail
DYNA 3 dynamic and experimental reverb algorithms: Swell, Gate, and Duck
AUTO-INF 3 modes: Auto-Infinite Reverb that “listens” to your performance and crossfades into a new reverb wash when it detects a newly played note (with optional chorus or flanger)
SHIMMER Two modes: Two configurations of rich, octave-shifted reverb washes
POLYPHONIC 2 modes: Two types of configurable bidirectional pitch shifts that add depth to the reverb tail
RESONANT Two modes: reverb excited by an adjustable resonator, and a configurable self-oscillating filter applied to the reverb tail
