[SN 570546] USED Martin / 1996 D-18S [05]

[SN 570546] USED Martin / 1996 D-18S [05]

A hidden gem from Martin’s 1990s lineup that lets you fully appreciate the charm of a 12-fret Dreadnought.

This instrument is a 1996 D-18S.
It features a sound that combines clarity and warmth, thanks to the combination of a Sitka spruce top and mahogany sides and back.
Unlike the 14th-fret model, the 12th-fret joint construction positions the bridge closer to the center of the body, producing deeper bass and richer harmonics.

The wood, having aged for approximately 30 years, resonates exceptionally well, offering a balance of quick response and softness.
In addition to the dry tone characteristic of mahogany, it offers the cohesion and depth unique to vintage instruments.

The top is spruce, the back and sides are mahogany, the neck is mahogany, and the fingerboard and bridge are ebony.
The condition is consistent with its age, and scuffs and dents are visible throughout the body.

It delivers delicate expressiveness when played fingerstyle and an enveloping, expansive sound when strummed.
The decoration is simple yet elegant, as is typical of Style 18, and its timeless, universal look is another appealing feature.

As a 12-fret Dreadnought—a specification that has become increasingly rare in recent years—this guitar offers both high collectible value and practicality.
This is a gem we highly recommend not only to players but also to anyone seeking a vintage Martin.
