[SN 373429] USED FENDER / 1972 Jazz Bass 3-Color Sunburst [05]

[SN 373429] USED FENDER / 1972 Jazz Bass 3-Color Sunburst [05]

A 1972 Jazz Bass that combines a refined sound with a rich, vintage look has just arrived.

This instrument features striking aging that is both pronounced yet natural. The neck date is faded and unreadable, so we determined it was made in 1972 based on the serial number.
The pickups have been replaced with cross-wound black-bobbin models—likely made by Seymour Duncan—while the pots were replaced with 1978 models, the jack with a Switchcraft unit, and the capacitor with a Cornell Dubilier unit. Although most of the electronics have been replaced, the result is a warm, well-balanced, and clear tone that unmistakably retains the sound of the early ’70s. Judging by the sound alone, it’s on par with fully original instruments from the same era.
We refretted the guitar and replaced the nut upon its arrival at our shop, making it incredibly comfortable to play. If you’re looking to enjoy playing this guitar for many years to come, you won’t find a better example in better condition.

We highly recommend that players looking for a guitar from this era give this one a try.
