[SN 368852] USED FENDER / 1975 Jazz Bass, Olympic White [05]
This particular instrument retains a high degree of originality in key areas such as the body finish and electronics. The sun-faded Olympic Whiteāthis is exactly what youād call āage-worn charm.ā
The pot dates are 137-7451 Ć 2, with the tone pot alone reading 137-7438. The pickups were gray bobbins consistent with the model year, but the dates could not be verified due to them being stuck to the foam. The neck date was legible up to ā02,ā but the rest was too faded to read. Taking all factors into account, including the serial number, we have determined this to be a 1975 model.
Repair history includes refretting, nut replacement, correction of a bulge on the 1st fret fingerboard, and refinishing of the fingerboard and neck back. The refretting and neck back finish are of the highest quality. The neck back, in particular, is of such exceptional quality that it could be called a work of art. Naturally, low action is a given, achieving perfect playability.
Additionally, extra frets have been added. The finger rest appears to have been replaced as well.
Even with the frets installed, the total weight is 4.46 kg, which is relatively light for an instrument of this eraāanother attractive feature.
This is a lively instrument that fans of the ā70s should definitely check out. Donāt miss this opportunity.
