[SN S935370] USED Fender / 1979 Stratocaster Sunburst [05]

[SN S935370] USED Fender / 1979 Stratocaster Sunburst [05]

A 1979 Fender Stratocaster has arrived in stock.

Since its debut in the 1950s, the Fender Stratocaster has been loved by musicians around the world and played by countless guitarists.

This 1979 model we’ve just received was made after Fender was acquired by CBS.
It features a large headstock and a truss rod that can be adjusted from the headstock side.
Its specifications differ in many ways from Fender models from the 1950s through the mid-1960s, such as the three-screw neck plate.
Furthermore, starting in 1975, serial numbers began to be stamped on the headstock, and this particular guitar also has a headstock serial number.

Many guitars from the 1970s used ash for the body, and this particular guitar is no exception.
Guitars from this period often weighed close to 4 kg, and this particular instrument weighs approximately 4.16 kg.

The pickups are the flat-pole-piece type, and the wiring has been changed from vintage-style to vinyl-insulated.
The pickup dates are 194879 for the front, 293779 for the middle, and 125079 for the rear—all original 1979 gray bobbins.

As for the pot dates, only the Tone 2 is hidden by solder; Volume and Tone 1 are 1377931, and Tone 2 is 1377XX.
Although there are signs that the jack has been replaced, there are no other signs of tampering with the solder joints, so we have determined that Tone 2 is also original.
Additionally, the capacitors and selector switch are original.

The included molded case is from a different era (one fastener is broken).
