The Japanese-made Red Label series, featuring a gloss-finish body for an even more luxurious look
The new Red Label series, featuring a new gloss finish (body), offers an even more luxurious feel
A fusion of 1960s aesthetics and the skilled craftsmanship honed over more than 50 years
Yamahaâs original folk body shape offers excellent playability for players who prefer a compact body; its well-defined, full-bodied sound is ideal for responsive chord strumming and fingerpicking
Through repeated refinements utilizing specially developed scalloped bracing and the latest acoustic analysis simulation technology, the series achieves an ideal warm tone and rich low end
The top features solid Sitka spruce treated with A.R.E., producing a mature sound reminiscent of a guitar that has been played for many years
The fingerboard, bridge, and bridge pins are made of ebony
A âMade in Japanâ model set up by skilled technicians
Hard case included
<Yamahaâs Traditional V-Shaped Head>
It carries on the Yamaha FGâs original headstock shape and features a tuning fork-inspired logo.
The truss rod cover is engraved with âSince 1966,â signifying the origins of Yamaha guitars.
<SOLID Sitka spruce Top>
The body top is crafted from solid Sitka spruce treated with A.R.E. This delivers a rich, resonant tone that sounds as though the guitar has been played for years, even though it is brand new.
Its well-balanced sound is ideal for chord strumming or rhythmic fingerstyle playing.
<Solid Mahogany Sides and Back>
Solid mahogany is used for the sides and back, delivering the warm, rich midrange characteristic of mahogany.
<Cowbone Nut and Saddle>
The nut and saddle are made of cow bone (Grade #5 only). Cow bone is extremely hard, enabling more effective sound transmission from the strings to the neck and body.
Installing and adjusting a cowbone nut requires a high level of technical skill; each guitar is carefully crafted one by one in Japan by skilled guitar craftsmen.
<Proprietary Scalloped Bracing>
Aiming to achieve an ideal, warm tone, we have repeatedly refined this design by combining virtual prototyping using the latest acoustic analysis simulation technology with physical prototypes crafted from wood.
Compared to the scalloped bracing used in the FG/FS#800 series, we have optimized this design to match the characteristics of the wood itself and the specific models of the FG and FS series, achieving even richer low-frequency response.
<A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) Treatment>
The top is treated with Yamahaâs proprietary Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (A.R.E.) process.
By precisely controlling temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, we induce changes in the wood over a short period that mimic the natural aging process occurring over many years after the wood is sawn. This enhances sound transmission and vibration efficiency, promoting the extension of mid-to-low frequencies while increasing the attack of high frequencies and accelerating their decay.
The A.R.E. treatment produces a well-balanced, mature, and warm sound with minimal harsh overtones, creating a tone reminiscent of a guitar that has been played for many years.
