This is an A Zildjian from the “Small Stamp” era.
Unlike current models, the hammering pattern and lapping differ; these cymbals from that era possess the characteristic brightness of the A series while also offering a deep, expansive sound and rich overtones. They offer a unique sound that cannot be found in the current A series, making them highly sought-after vintage A cymbals in recent years.
It retains the bright, crisp characteristics unique to the A series, yet its lighter weight gives it a delicate impression.
However, its composed, well-balanced sound—free from any harshness—is characteristic of this era.
