[SN 731146] USED Gibson Custom / Historic Collection 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue VOS Double Gold [11]
This model recreates the 1957 specification—a major turning point in Les Paul history—and features a traditional construction combining a maple top with a mahogany body that has not undergone weight relief. It delivers an authentic Les Paul sound with rich natural resonance, dense mid-to-low frequencies, and powerful sustain.
It is equipped with two Custombucker Alnico III pickups. Characterized by a delicate response and rich harmonics inspired by vintage PAFs, it produces a lustrous tone when played clean and a thick, resilient tone when driven. Combined with the solid grip provided by the ’50s Rounded Medium C neck, this guitar is crafted to make you feel at one with the instrument the more you play it.
The understated elegance of the VOS finish is another key attraction. Without relying on excessive embellishments, its appearance—with the distinctive dignity and presence unique to a Goldtop—truly makes it worthy of being called a classic Les Paul.
Pursuing the charm of the 1957 Les Paul in every aspect—sound, looks, and playability—this is a flagship model of the Historic Collection.
The binding on the cutaway had come loose, so it was re-glued. Some traces of the repair remain.
There is a small dent on part of the body. While there are some minor scuffs and other marks, the guitar shows minimal overall signs of use.
As this is a VOS finish model, some scratches and signs of use are inherent to the finish and were present at the time of manufacture.
There are no noticeable issues with the neck, and it is in good playing condition.
