As the name āJazzmasterā suggests, this model was originally developed for jazz guitarists, but at the time it was frequently used by surf-style guitarists. Since the 1990s, it has been embraced by grunge, alternative, and shoegaze guitarists, and remains popular to this day. Among Fenderās lineup, it is a model beloved by guitarists across various genres for its playing feel and soundāwhich are distinct from those of the Stratocaster and Telecasterāas well as its unique control layout.
The wood specifications include a two-piece alder body, a lift-sawn maple neck, and a round-laminated rosewood fingerboard.
The neck shape is a ā62 Jazzmaster, featuring a 9.5-inch fingerboard radius and Medium Vintage (47095) frets.
It is equipped with a āHand-Wound J Master Flat MAGā pickup, and the bridge features an RSD JAG/JAZZ BRG designed for a 9.5" fingerboard radius.
