This new model features a gloss finish (body), enhancing its premium feel!
A fusion of 1960s aesthetics and master craftsmanship honed over more than 50 years
Equipped with the newly developed âAtmosfeelâ pickup system. It allows you to faithfully capture the acoustic guitarâs airy quality and natural resonance through the line output.
Yamahaâs original jumbo body shape delivers rich volume and natural mid-to-low-frequency resonance. The sound is ideal for chord strumming and flatpicking.
Through repeated refinements utilizing proprietary scalloped bracing and the latest acoustic analysis simulation technology, it achieves an ideal warm tone and rich low-end response
The top is made of solid Sitka spruce treated with A.R.E., producing a mature sound reminiscent of a guitar that has been played for many years
The fingerboard, bridge, and bridge pins are made of ebony.
A âMade in Japanâ model set up by skilled technicians
Hard case included
<Yamahaâs Traditional V-Shaped Headstock>
The original headstock shape of the Yamaha FG features a logo modeled after a tuning fork. The truss rod cover is engraved with âSince 1966,â signifying the origins of Yamaha guitars.
<SOLID Sitka spruce Top>
The body top is crafted from solid Sitka spruce treated with A.R.E. technology. This delivers a rich, resonant tone that sounds as though the guitar has been played for years, even though it is brand new. The well-balanced sound is ideal for chord strumming or rhythmic fingerstyle playing.
<Solid Mahogany Sides and Back>
Solid mahogany is used for the sides and back, delivering the warm, rich midrange characteristic of mahogany.
<Cowbone Nut and Saddle>
The nut and saddle are made of cow bone (Grade #5 only). Cow bone is extremely hard, enabling more effective sound transmission from the strings to the neck and body. Installing and adjusting a cow bone nut requires a high level of technical skill; each guitar is carefully crafted one by one by skilled guitar craftsmen in Japan.
<Proprietary Scalloped Bracing>
Aiming to achieve an ideal, warm tone, we have repeatedly refined the design by combining virtual prototyping using the latest acoustic analysis simulation technology with physical prototypes crafted from wood. Compared to the scalloped bracing used in the FG/FS#800 series, this bracing has been optimized to match the characteristics of the wood itself and the specific models of the FG and FS series, resulting in further enhancement of the low-frequency response.
<A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) Treatment>
The top is treated with Yamahaâs proprietary Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (A.R.E.) process. By precisely controlling temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, this process replicates the natural aging changes that occur in wood over a long period after milling within a short timeframe. This enhances sound transmission and vibration efficiency, promoting the extension of mid-to-low frequencies while increasing the attack of high frequencies and accelerating their decay.The A.R.E. treatment produces a well-balanced, mature, and warm sound with minimal harsh overtones, creating a tone reminiscent of a guitar that has been played for many years.
<Equipped with the Newly Developed âAtmosfeelâ Pickup System>
The newly developed Atmosfeel 3-way pickup system features an under-saddle piezo sensor for the mid-to-low frequencies, a microphone built into the preamp for the low frequencies, and a proprietary, ultra-thin contact sensor for the high frequenciesâensuring that these three distinct pickups reliably capture each frequency range.
<Simple and User-Friendly Controller>
The âAtmosfeelâ controller unit allows you to blend the various pickups with extremely simple controls, making it easy to shape your sound. Use the master volume knob to fine-tune subtle tonal nuances, and the mic blend knob to add body resonance. The Bass EQ controller lets you adjust the peak EQ settings.
