Although the ERNIE BALL Musicman EVH Signature (1991–1995) was discontinued, Musicman simultaneously continued sales under the new name “AXIS.”
This instrument is an Axis EX manufactured specifically for the Japanese market.
It is an electric guitar assembled and finished at a designated workshop in Japan, using the exact same parts as the EVH/AXIS models.
Both the EVH and AXIS series feature bodies constructed with a quilted maple top and basswood back.
It features a locking tremolo system, specifically an original bridge bearing the MUSICMAN logo, based on a Gotoh design.
The tuning machine buttons have been replaced, and there is some discoloration and minor rust on the parts.
There are numerous small dents with indentations on the back and sides of the body, and there is a dent with paint cracking beneath the bridge on the top of the body.
In addition, there are scratches and dents throughout the instrument.
